Inspired by Nature

The world is full of natural beauty. I’m blessed to be living on a small farm in the rural Midwest, USA. We’re situated in a little valley surround by trees and meadows. And, every year I add to my flower and vegetable gardens. It’s an everchanging palette of texture and color. The plants themselves are beauties to behold but add in the bees, bugs, and critters they attract and you can’t help but say, “What a Wonderful World”!

The Journey

It’s all about the creative journey and the destination.   First, finding or creating unique objects to add a touch of intrigue, an idea begins to form and a vision emerges, a search ensues to find the perfect beads or chain to complement the pendant, then everything is laid out to determine the best sequence, you turn on the radio to find some music to enhance the creative mood as you carefully wrap each bead, you might be in a hurry, anxious to see if the completed piece will come out exactly as you had envisioned, but you have to pause, take a breath, and stay in the creative moment.   Finally, the beads are wrapped, the wire is patina’d and polished, the pendant is hung, the final results are gorgeous, just as you imagined.    Then you put it out there for all to see until it is discovered by that unique person for which it was intended.     This is part of the magic of owning a handmade treasure.

I so enjoyed making this set for my friend, Eileen. She created this gorgeous clay pendant! A talented potter I had met through Etsy one year while searching for that perfect Christmas gift. I purchased a few of her gorgeous pottery pieces and from there a budding friendship emerged. Sometimes we just never know what true treasures we may find on any given day.

This set is NFS (not for sale — one of those dreaded signs I sometimes stumble across while antiquing and find that something I so adore…sigh). From the beginning it was meant for her.

Artisan Handmade Jewelry – Limited Edition Necklaces

Dalmatian Jasper with Pink Rhodonite Natural Gemstone Stone Necklaces by JudysTreehouse

I have an obsession confession. Sometimes (okay, often) when I’m perusing for unique stones or beads to work into my jewelry creations I come across some pieces that almost make me hyperventilate with that “gotta have this” feeling. Although my habit (okay, my reasoning way of thinking would/should be) is to wait a day or two before purchasing to “make sure” this is truly an “object of my affection” and not a “passing phase” that will fade by the next day, sometimes I just can’t wait. I get nervous thinking that I might miss my window of opportunity if I don’t buy it RIGHT NOW! I’ve even found myself unable to sleep during my self-induced “waiting period” and have jumped out of bed in the middle of the night, vetoing my inner voice that says “wait” and moving forward with a “buy it now” mentality. This results in a momentary sense of peace and the ability to then garner an hour or two of much needed sleep until I start thinking about matching beads.

This is the case with these ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS dalmatian jasper teardrop pendants. First I purchased one, then I purchased a few more. I think I purchased six (maybe a couple more than that) in total, and I REALLY WANT MORE! But, I restrain myself so that I will make just a few limited edition pieces which will make them all the more precious for those discerning few fashion fanatics who strive for individuality.

These short statement necklaces feature natural semi-precious gemstones and stones with each dalmatian jasper pendant supported by a strand of a contrasting yet complementary gemstone beads. Although similar, each necklace is unique in color combination not to mention the eclectic designs created by the natural occurring striations, bands, inclusions, and veins found in each individual stone.

These are the few necklaces I’ve created with these cool dalmatian jasper pendants and anticipate I’ll finish up the last few within the next couple of months.

Contrasting color combinations add an eclectic artsy vibe to these long statement earrings.    Funky cool in a sophisticated chic kind of style!   Perfect for that confident woman with a unique sense of fashion and originality!

Absolutely Gorgeous! I can’t really take the credit for these beautiful natural gemstone statement necklaces. After all, it is the beauty of the natural stone that makes them so stunning. I simply enjoyed the process of bringing it all together; the pleasure of “the treasure hunt” in finding these gorgeous petrified wood (agate) pendants, then the quest to find the perfect matching gemstone beads, being in the moment as I wire wrap each bead and polish each beaded link. It is a joyous journey and one I find very meditative. Dare I say good vibes woven into each piece!

Limited edition creations! These necklaces are unique and one-of-a-kind with their earthy natural colors, striations and inclusions. I so adore these pendants that I have a few more ordered and on their way. Each pendant exhibits individual earthy characteristics and each necklace I create will have a different strand of beaded links.

I did have a bit of a challenge photographing these beauties. They are so glossy that my photo lamps were reflecting off of their shiny surface. But, the photos taken in natural light don’t quite display their rich colors.

Handmade, Unique, One-of-a-Kind Natural Gemstone Statement Necklaces by JudysTreehouse

Decisions, decisions…….nothing like the arrival of some new gemstones to get the creative juices flowing!

These petrified wood agate pendants are absolutely gorgeous! So much so I went back and purchased a few more! Each one has its own individual characteristics and colors and is visually stunning. Of course, I then had to decide which beads to match them with, then layout the best bead sequence to best complement each pendant.

There are so many options that would work beautifully but after a bit of deliberation I decided on the combinations that best resonated with me at the time. I could actually come back another day and decide that a different combination might be just as good or better. Thus, my motto, every day is different and so is the jewelry I create.

So, I’ve wire wrapped my beads and pendants and they are almost complete. They’ve gone through their process to patina the wire. Now they’re just waiting for me to give the wire it’s final polishing and then these gorgeous, one-of-a-kind gemstone necklaces will be ready to become someone’s next eye-catching fashion statement.
